If you missed picture day or would like a new picture taken, Monte Vista will have a Picture makeup day on Thursday, November 12.

Monte Vista PTO will honor our veterans with a coffee and donut gathering on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:30 a.m.

On Friday, October 23rd, Monte Vista Elementary held their annual Harvest Festival. Families and friends of the local community, joined together in activity booths, participated in drawings for prizes, and enjoyed food and snacks provided by PTO and Student Council.

On Friday, October 16th all fourth graders attended Butterfield Stage History Day. This event provides students with living history exhibits of the westward movement and pioneer era of California. Monte Vista fourth graders learned how to throw a tomahawk, tasted dutch oven cooking and tried their hand at horseshoes.

Students council members ended their campaign week with election speeches. Great job all student council members who ran an excellent campaign. Congratulations to our new Student Body Representatives.

Third grade had a special picnic lunch to celebrate students' homework achievements. Parents and students brought lunches and enjoyed an afternoon snacking out on the playground.

The whole school is excited about our upcoming Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! At the Book Fair you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents. Hope to see everyone there, October 12 through October 16

Monte Vista has started a school-wide fundraiser. Every Grizzly who sells at least one item will receive a collectable, superhero duck and lanyard! Their name will also go into a drawing for other amazing prizes. The more students sell, the more opportunities they have to win awesome prizes and help out our school!

Attendance Works is a national and state initiative that promotes better policy and practice around school attendance. Parents, teachers, and healthcare providers, everybody plays a role in ensuring children attend school regularly.
