Monte Vista Turkey Trot

Monte Vista held their annual Turkey Trot. Students raced against grade level peers in the hope of winning a turkey, pie, or bag of potatoes to take home for Thanksgiving. PTO provided the turkeys for the event and the staff pitched in with the rest.

Sixth Graders go to SCICON

Monte Vista sixth graders are at SCICON this week learning about science and conservation. They are participating in activities such as hiking, campfire, and investigating nature in its natural habitat.

Monte Vista Celebrates Veterans

On Monday November 7, Monte Vista Grizzlies celebrated and honored our nations veterans. Students sang patriotic songs and gave out hand written letters of thanks. Retired and active members were invited to attend the event and the American Legion presented the colors.

The Scholastic Book Fairs is coming to Monte Vista

The book fair will begin on Monday, November 7th and end on Thursday, November 10th. The book fair will be open during the school day for students to visit with their classes and during lunch. The book fair will remain open until 6:00 p.m. all week. Any time after 3:30 on those days, parents are invited to shop the book fair with their students. Clifford “The Big Red Dog” will be on campus during the Book Fair.
The Scholastic Book Fair accepts cash and credit cards: Discover, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and secured debit cards (with a MasterCard or Visa logo on them).
We hope that you will be able to make some time to attend the Book Fair. It is a great opportunity to find books that will encourage your child to read. Reading is key to a child’s success in school.

Peach Blossom 2016

Several Monte Vista students who participated in the school wide Poetry and Prose were selected to attend the annual Peach Blossom Festival March 10, 2016, where they recited their poems. Way to Go Grizzlies!

Sequoia Middle School students visited Monte vista today to read Dr. Seuss books to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day! Students planned activities for students and enjoyed interacting with our Grizzlies!
